Classification of Stainless Steel Wire Rope
According to the contact state of the adjacent layers of steel wire in the strand, the Stainless Steel Wire rope can be divided into three basic structural forms: point contact stainless Steel Wire Rope, line contact stainless steel wire rope, and surface contact stainless steel wire rope.
According to the form of strand section, stainless steel wire rope can be divided into round strand stainless steel wire rope and special-shaped strand stainless steel wire rope (the special-shaped strand wire rope mainly includes triangular strand stainless steel wire rope, elliptical strand stainless steel wire rope and fan-shaped strand stainless steel wire rope).
According to the surface state of steel wire (steel wire rope), stainless steel wire rope can be divided into smooth steel wire rope, galvanized (zinc-aluminum alloy) steel wire rope and coated (coated) plastic steel wire rope.
Point contact: There is point contact between the adjacent layers of steel wires in the strand. Except for the central steel wire, the diameters of the steel wires in each layer are equal, and the strands are formed by layered twisting.
Line contact: There is a linear contact between the adjacent layers of steel wires in the strand, and the strands are twisted from steel wires of different diameters at one time.
Surface contact: There is a surface contact between the adjacent layers of wires in the strand.
Point and line contact wire rope: There are two forms of point and line contact between the adjacent layers of steel wires in the strand. The strands are made of graded twisted steel wires of different diameters.
Special-shaped strand wire rope: The special-shaped strand wire rope is named because its strand section is triangular, oval or fan-shaped.
Galvanized Steel Wire Rope: The wire rope is made by galvanizing the surface of the steel wire (or drawing after galvanizing), and then twisting it.
