Classification by surface state
1. Phosphating coated steel wire rope (Chinese patent), referred to as phosphating steel wire rope, the weight of the phosphating film on the rope making steel wire is 3-60 g/square meter. , steel core and wire rope, phosphating film can improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the surface of the rope making wire, and effectively inhibit the occurrence of fretting fatigue. For the phosphating treatment of rope-making steel wire, manganese series or zinc-manganese series phosphating is preferred. After the steel wire is phosphatized, no drawing process is performed, and the phosphating steel wire is directly used to make the steel wire rope. Due to the phosphating coating, the surface of the wire is more wear-resistant. Moreover, the phosphating film is non-conductive, which can improve the corrosion resistance of the steel wire at the same time. The service life of the phosphated steel wire rope is 2-3 times that of the smooth steel wire rope, and the fatigue resistance of the steel wire rope is greatly improved. [1] Phosphating steel wire rope is not only an ideal substitute for smooth steel wire rope, but also has the ability to replace imported steel wire rope [2-3].

a Right alternating twist SZ: the rope is twisted to the right, the strand is twisted to the left, and the twist direction of the strand rope is opposite to that of the steel wire in the strand, which is called alternating twist
b Left alternating twist ZS: rope left twist, strand right twist
c right twist ZZ: right twist of rope, right twist of strand
d Left-hand twist: rope left-twist, strand left-twist
e Right mixed twist: the rope is twisted right, some strands are left twisted, and some strands are twisted right
f Left mixed twist: the rope is twisted left, some strands are twisted right, and some strands are twisted left

According to the contact state between the adjacent layers of steel wires in the strand, it is divided into three types: point contact, line contact or surface contact.
① Steel wire rope with point contact: The diameter of the steel wires in the strands is the same, the lay angle between the steel wires in each layer is the same, and the lay length is different, so the inner and outer layers of steel wires cross each other and are in a point contact state.
②Wire rope in line contact: the lay length of each layer of steel wire in the strand is the same and the lay angle is different. Under the same conditions of use, the service life of line contact wire rope is longer than that of point contact wire rope.
③Compacted steel wire rope, formerly known as surface contact wire rope, during the twisting process of the steel wire rope, through forging, drawing, etc., the contact surface is formed between the steel wires, including strand rope compaction, wire rope compaction and double strand compaction, etc. .
④Sealing steel wire rope: The outer layer is made of special-Shaped Steel Wire, including steel wire with T-shaped S-shaped Z-shaped section structure, with smooth surface and good wear resistance. Compared with other types of steel wire ropes of the same diameter, the tensile strength is higher, and It bears lateral pressure, but has poor flexibility, complex process and high manufacturing cost. It is often used as a bearing cable, such as cable cranes and cables on aerial ropeways.
